The 95th anniversary of the San Clemente Pier was held on Thursday, Oct. 19, and went from 5:30-8:30 pm. Although the tickets to the event were $250, the ticket included various attractions such as live music and food options such as cocktails, appetizers, and dinner and dessert on the Terrace.
People attending the event could also donate or sponsor the pier and 100% of their donations would go to the preservation and maintenance of the pier's future. The donations would also go to other developments such as the expansion of bicycle parking at the crossroad near the pier. The celebration was all thanks to the Pier Pride Foundation founded in 1928 which helped organize and run the whole event. Prior to the main celebration of the anniversary, the Pierpride Foundation also hosted various other events such as the “Exclusive Sunset Dinner” on Oct. 5 and the “Take a Jump off the Pier'' on Oct. 7 which allowed people to participate in a supervised jump.
All these previous events were meant to rally people, get them excited for the main event, and encourage them to come and enjoy the wonderful celebration. The events prior to the anniversary were also a great way to meet new people and have fun with either friends or family. However, the main celebration was a way to make long-lasting memories and experiences because it allowed one to be part of a community dedicated to the preservation of the San Clemente pier.
