On the morning of Aug. 28, the Class of 2024 seniors descended upon the Dolphin’s football field to enjoy a nice breakfast and bonding time with their fellow classmates. Coordinated by our school’s ASU, primarily by senior class president Grace Willard, the event planning did not go without any hiccups. Willard states, “It was a lot of planning ahead and getting all the things set.” They had to coordinate food for over 300 students, which was especially difficult to pull off in the short time given. The second hiccup was scheduling due to Hurricane Hilary. The chaos and suspicion revolving around the weather event pushed the activity back one week to avoid any issues. Willard states that all the trouble shooting “paid off seeing everyone together on the field hanging out with friends and the mixing of groups.” Seeing the comradery all around the football field every year makes all the planning worth it. Senior year is an exciting and joyful time, and senior Rylinn Baker definitely saw some of that positive energy present. Baker states that she “had a ton of fun and loved seeing all her friends.” She especially felt that she got to “bond with fellow classmates that she hadn’t before.” Her favorite part of the morning was writing the letter to her future self, which Baker, amongst other seniors, all look forward to seeing how much they grew and changed by the end of the year. The stress and anxiety that comes with college applications makes senior year a struggle, but the class sunrise is a great way to start the year off strong and to get everyone together and laughing.
