Introducing "Little Shop of Horrors" - Dana Hills SOCSA's Next Musical featuring Lucy Himmelberg and Tristan Therard-Garcia

Introducing Little Shop of Horrors, Dana Hills SOCSA’s (South Orange County School of the Arts) next musical. This amazing musical is starring Lucy Himmelberg as Audrey and Tristian Therard-Garcia as Seymour Krelborn. Lucy and Tristan have both been active in theater for quite some time with Lucy starting when she was in second grade and Tristan in sixth. Some advice Lucy has for anyone who is thinking about joining is, “it can be very intimidating, but just remember that everyone is in the same boat you are. It’s a very welcoming environment that will help you grow as a person.” Lucy’s role, Audrey, is a young woman who works at a flower shop on Skid Row while trying to balance her abusive relationship. Tristan plays Seymour Krelborn who also works at Mushnik’s Skid Row Florist and is very awkward with the biggest crush on Audrey but can’t compete with her crazy boyfriend. During this musical, Seymour is able to save Mushnik’s Skid Row Florist from closure with his new strange and interesting plant called Audrey II, but keeping Audrey II alive will prove to be a gruesome and difficult task involving life and death decisions. The Musical opens on November 29th and runs until December 2nd at 7pm. There is also a 2pm show on saturday. Tristan say’s, “My favorite part of the Dana Hills SOCSA program is the community of people and the diverse environment.” There are two plays and two musicals a year. Lucy and Tristan have both been in seven of the productions SOCSA has put on over the last three years, and they both plan on being apart of the next two shows during spring of this year as well. Last fall, Tristian and Lucy were also in Urinetown where they played the roles of Bobby Strong and Little Sally. This performance earned Lucy an award.
